"SCROOGE MAKES UP!"

A 45 minute one-act Christmas comedy with a flexible cast of 15! (5M, 6F plus 4 that can be either. Extras as carolers, if desired. Can also be performed with an all-female cast)

Young store clerk, Ebenezer Scrooge, rounds up grocery carts in a supermarket parking lot, one stormy Christmas Eve, and gets hit head-on by a bus-load of senior citizens! Poor Ebenezer is hospitalized, missing Christmas, and spending an entire year in a body cast!

Fast forward to the present... Ebenezer, now a bitter adult (who hates Christmas and shopping carts), is president of "Scrooge and Marley Cosmetics," a company whose toxic face cream poisoned his partner, "Makeup Marley," and disfigured employee, Bobbie Cratchit's daughter, "Tiny Kim", so severely that she wears a paper bag over her head. But, no matter...at least profits are up!

But things are about to change, when this Christmas Eve, Ebenezer is visited by his partner's ghost. Carrying a long, chain, Marley tells Scrooge that "Mallmart", and those other superstores have cut a deal with the "Big Guy Upstairs," granting him a deep discount in exchange for free ghostly labor. Marley and the other misfortunates are doomed to roam the afterlife, chaining together loose shopping carts from parking lots around the world! And now, an angel has been spotted embroidering Ebenezer's name on a "Coshko" smock! Can Scrooge change his ways before he suffers the same horrific fate?!!

With few props, minimal scenery and a host of loony ghosts, and daffy characters, this easy-to-produce show is sure-fire holiday fun for schools and community theater groups!

"THE LAST PROPHECY OF MERLIN"

A dramatic medieval adventure in two acts!

Flexible cast of 16 with doubling (about 4M/5F plus 4 boys and 3 girls)

23 or more characters, without doubling.

Over the course of history, Merlin has had many faces - a magical man of the forest who could talk to animals, a tutor, an adviser to kings, and an old fool who liked women too much. One of the most fascinating legends in British literature, this mystical play tells the little-known story of the prophetic wizard, from the orchestration of his birth by powerful demons, to the infamous story of "The Sword and the Stone" which helped young Arthur become king, to Merlin's obsession with the seductive sorceress, Niniane. It is an adventurous tale, designed to be performed by high schools, colleges, or community theaters with a mixed cast of adults and young people. Told in drama, mask theater, puppetry and prose, here is the story you've never heard before! Come and be amazed!

Freidrich Schuhmaker, a cobbler, and his wife, Elsa, are a poor childless couple, who live in a small Bavarian village. To make matters worse, Elsa has sewn four elf dolls, as gifts for four young orphans, with the materials Freidrich needed to finish his shoes. Now, with only one piece of leather left in the entire shop, and the tanners out of supplies, the couple frets over how they will finish the shoes, and pay their taxes...until one night, when a mysterious stranger suddenly appears!

This adaptation of the Grimm brothers' timeless tale is a sweet, enchanting, yet comical bit of holiday entertainment, perfect for the entire family! Easy to produce, with minimal stage requirements and the most colorful characters since "Scrooge", this show is one that both schools and community theaters will have great fun performing!

With his father lost at sea, a drought upon his village, and a sister and invalid mother to support, young Jack O'Donnell, inspired by his mother's folktales, leaves home to find the elusive leprechaun's crock o'gold. But when Jack meets up with Paddy McKeen and his traveling caravan of theater gypsies, they caution Jack about meddlin' with the "wee folk" by pulling costumes from a trunk, and performing two tales that end in woeful misfortune. Yet, despite their warnings, Jack resumes his quest, and in doing so, is forced to match wits with mythical creatures directly from the annals of Irish folklore. In the end, Jack discovers a small bit of magic, but realizes that his true fortune was under his nose, the whole time!

An array of traditional Irish folksongs, along with an accompaniment CD help "Jack and the Blarney Stone" weave the magic and fears of Celtic folklore into a lively show that will leave your audiences "charmed"!

"BEAUTY DUTY!"

A one-act fairytale comedy for an all-female cast!

RUNNING TIME: Approximately 45 minutes.

CAST: 13 females

SET: One interior business office set

Ambitious Amanda Styles, a fashionable, young job recruiter for "The Flunkee Employment Agency", is determined to help one of her biggest clients, Fields Department Store, fill a management position at their busy cosmetics counter. However, when Amanda places a classified ad in the local newspaper, she inadvertently opens the door to a host of "unreal" beauties - all characters from storybooks - who feel that their past experiences have given them exactly the right criteria for the job. While Amanda struggles through a seemingly endless series of bizarre interviews, with the help of her efficient secretary, Thelma, and her kooky associate, Betty Hawkins, she begins to wonder if she'll ever find a qualified candidate for this job.

With storybook characters such as Dorothy and Toto, Goldilocks, Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Rapunzel, and the Little Mermaid, plus one silly, repetitious song sung by the characters, and accompanied by Toto on kazoo, this show is certain to appeal to elementary students, in grades 3-up!
